Lobuche Peak Climbing
Lobuche Peak (6145m.) is one of the attractive Peaks for mountain climbers with its challenging ridge to climb over it. The peak offers various routes to climb though normally climbers use South Ridge. One of the popular peaks in Khumbu region, Lobuche is not so far from Mt. Everest. It has two different summits, Lobuche East (6119m.) and Lobuche West (6145m.) which are accessed through the trekking along Lobuche village in South Ridge. Lobuche East Peak is known as trekking peak and Lobuche West as expedition peak because of its level of difficulty.
Lobuche Peak climbing through East Ridge is to be faced with challenging rocky triangle which rises over the moraine of Khumbu Glacier. The climb of this peak includes othe small peaks before reaching the exact summit of Lobuche. The route follows the steep climb along snowy slopes to reach the summit. The trail is through Everest Base Camp trekking route up to Pheriche and departs to Dughla. Lobuche Base camp is set at the altitude of 4950m at the base of South-West Face near a lake in a rocky hollow. The panoramic views of Mt. Ama Dablam and Thwache are very attractive from the Base Camp of Lobuche.
Lobuche Peak Climbing trek starts in Lukla and continues through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Pangboche, Dingboche, Kalapathar, and to the Lobuche Base Camp. The trek offers superb views of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, different wildlife and natural vegetation. The route goes through Sagarmatha National Park which provides the opportunities to explore wild animals and the forests of rhododendron, pine etc.
Lobuche Climbing is one of the popular adventures in Nepal in Khumbu region. The region is important because Mt. Everest lies in the same region including Khumbu Glacier. From the summit of Lobuche, the views of Mt. Everest, Mt Ama Dablam and Pumori Peak are very attractive along with many other peaks of Khumbu region. Lobuche Peak Climbing is high mountain climbing which requires experience of other high mountain climbing experience. Climbers should be healthy and fit to access the summit successfully.
Lobuche Peak Climbing Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1310m.)
You are welcome in the country of Mt. Everest, here in Nepal. After you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the representative of Motherland Hiking Team greets of welcome and takes you to the already booked hotel. The hotel staffs will be engaged for your accommodation and check in. In the evening, there will be an arrangement of welcome dinner in the hotel with our team.
Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation for trekking
Today, after having breakfast, we will provide a guide who will take you to the famous cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu. Among them, the UNESCO enlisted world heritage may be the primary place of visit. Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu temple), Boudhanath (Buddhist Shrine), Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Durbar Squire, Hanuman Dhoka Durbar, Dharahara ( Bhimsen Tower) etc. there will be pre- trip discussion with your mountain climbing Sherpa guides for well preparation of the trek. They will give brief information and highlights Lobuche Peak climbing.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla flight and trekking to Phakding (2652m.)
With having breakfast in Kathmandu, your flight is set to Lukla. It’s a short flight of half-an hour. View the Himalayan region while you are in the air which is overwhelming and fabulous. We start the trek to Phakding for about 5 hours along the trail following Everest base Camp Trekking trail. There you may get the world famous hospitality of Sherpas. We stay in a lodge in Phakding.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m.)
We continue trek to Namche valley. The trail continues to the foot of Everest region i.e. Namche Bazaar. The region is surprisingly wonderful in such remoteness too. It is one of the greatest scenes of the earth because it makes available most of the facilities of modern life though located in remote area. The trek follows a lot of ups and downs with crossing and re-crossing Dudh Koshi River to reach Namche bazaar from Phakding.
Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar
It is the resting day. You may wander around in Namche exploring the surrounding. Acclimatization is necessary to adjust your body with high elevation. You’d better to visit Khumjung and Thame to take advantage of the day. There, you can view the world’s amazing panoramic scenes of the earth and get chance to observe uniquely different Sherpa Culture. The night stay will be in the same hotel.
Day 06: Trek to Syangboche (3860m.)
On this day after breakfast, the trekking trail leads you to Syangboche (also called Tengboche). The wonderful view of Ama Dablam Mountain and Mt. Everest is breath stopping for you. You see so near as if the mountain in front of you! If you are lucky, Mani Rimdu festival in the monastery gives everlasting experience of the dancing of monks wearing masks. Overnight stay in a lodge in Syangboche
Day 07: Trek to Pheriche
On this day, we trek to Pheriche from Syangboche. Pheriche is a typical Sherpa village in Khumbu region. In the same village, there is a hospital run by Himalayan Rescue Association. The natural sceneries are amazingly beautiful around there. Ascending to high mountains you surely get extra excitements by nature’s grandeur. Exploring the surrounding is advantageous before we set in a hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (5118m.)
On this day, we trek to Lobuche from Pheriche. The trail is simply continuous walk along the valleys crossing some streams and pasture lands. Lobuche is a small settlement which is developed for the need and demand of the trekkers and climbers. You can see some tea houses along the way. It takes you very closer to your destination. We stay in a lodge at night there in Lobuche.
Day 09: Trek to Kalapatthar
We trek to Kalapatthar in about three hours. It is a small mountain in Everest region. This is the most popular trekking destination for those who reach Everest region as trekkers and mountaineers because the view of mountains especially Mt. Everest is astonishing. The scenario of Mt. Everest and other mountains is so clear and beautiful that it is beyond your imagination. You get back to Gorekshep in the evening and stay in a lodge.
Day 10: Trek to Lobuche Base Camp via Everest Base Camp (5118m.)
We trek to Lobuche Base Camp through Everest Base Camp (5364m.). If you begin trekking early, you may reach to Lobuche Base Camp from Gorakshep in five hours. Lobuche Base camp is surrounded by the lofty and peaceful Himalayan panoramas. The close-up view of Mt. Everest is breath stopping and stunning. We stay overnight in a tented camp at the base Camp of Lobuche Peak.
Day 11: Acclimatization day
It’s your acclamation day in Lobuche Base Camp. You can climb to Lobuche East Base Camp to make proper adjustment with the environment. Guides will work for preparing to climb the peak. It is necessary to acclimatization because of high elevation and its effects. We stay overnight in a tented camp. Acclimatization day can be added as the climbers need to have properly acclimatized.
Day 12: Making a High Camp
From Lobuche Base Camp, you can directly reach to the summit of the peak but it is better to make a high camp so that your climbing becomes quite easier. It is like training for climbing to set high camp. And it is also useful act for acclimatization. If climate does not favor, spend a day there for acclimatization enjoying the views of gigantic mountains and spend night inside tented camp.
Day 13: Lobuche Peak summit and return to Base Camp.
Your ascent to the top of Lobuche Peak is the destination of the mountain climbing. From the top, enjoy the lofty view of Mt. Everest. You can also swallow the view of Lhotse, Nuptse, Tawache, Ama Dablam, Cholaste and many more as you see that Everest region is the region of 200 snow-capped peaks; out of them three are over 8,000 meters high. Return back to Base Camp before evening and camp there overnight. (If weather doesn’t favor, we have to wait for another day)
Day 14: Retrieve back to Dingboche
On this day, we set to return back through the same route downwards to Dingboche. It is about five hours trek over Duglha Pass. The views of mountains covered with snow offer panoramic imprint of the nature. You turn your head to grasp the departing view of Ama Dablam, Pokalde, Thamserku, Cholaste, Tawache etc. We spend the night in a lodge in Dingboche.
Day 15: Retrieve back to Tengboche
We are retrieving back along the same trail of Everest Base Camp. The trek downwards to Tengboche while returning back. Amazingly, the scenarios will not be lost as you are trekking down. There e are opportunities to explore the surrounding and settlements throughout the way to Tengboche. We stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 16: Retrieve back to Namche Bazaar
Walking through the valleys and meadows, you are getting back to Namche. Some small huts and shepherd huts can be seen along the way. Namche access is like in wonderland after some day’s journey to the remote areas. Your feeling will be totally different as you reach to Namche Bazaar. You feel as if you are in a wonderland thrown from primitive snowy mountains. We stay overnight in a hotel in Namche bazaar.
Day 17: Trek Back to Lukla
It is our last day of trekking for this trip. We walk through Saldang village with experiencing a traditional rural life. The area is rich in its picturesque view of the natural landscape. You can experience life style of the local people in Lukla if there remains time. You can shop local items three in local market. We stay in a hotel overnight.
Day 18: Lukla to Kathmandu
You board a plane and fly to Kathmandu. This short and scenic domestic flight possibly makes you feel nostalgic because of the glimpses of snowy mountains from your plane. You will be transferred to hotel where you either have leisure time or you may catch the last moments exploring the missed sights of Kathmandu valley or purchasing gifts to your nearest ones. In the evening, we have a celebration dinner together.
Day 19: Farewell Day
On the last day, we bid goodbye to the guest as visit in Nepal comes to the end for this time. If you have time enough, you can have sightseeing and purchasing the token of love from Nepal. Before 3 hours of scheduled flight, our representatives will take you to the TIA. We hope you will be planning for another adventure-trip while you are on returning back to your homeland.
