Langtang Valley Treks is the nearest Himalayan Region from Kathmandu valley. We can reach to the beautiful Langtang region by few hours’ drive from Kathmandu. Despite being very close to Kathmandu, Langtang region is as wild as any Tibetan highlands with idyllic rural landscape. So, Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. During this trek, you will be accompanied with the varieties of rhododendrons and bamboo forests, many majestic waterfalls and snowcapped Himalayas.

You will find Langtang Valley Trek one of the most diverse treks nearby Kathmandu. We will start our trek from Syabrubesi and we head upwards to Lama Hotel. Then, we follow the trail to Langtang Village. We also explore the famous Kyanjin Gompa and areas around. Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu), our representatives from Motherland Hike Team will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Preparation for the trek

Today, you will visit main places of Kathmandu valley. In the morning you visit Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath, and Swayambhunath. Pashupatinath is the oldest Hindu temple, Bauddhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa are the oldest Buddhist Stupas. After launch you visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square, you visit Kumari temple, the temple of Living goddess.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1550m) 7 hours

After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. We will enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. We will take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we then descend down to Syabrubesi. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2380m) 6 hours

Well, this is going to be our first day of trekking today. We will follow the Langtang Khola River. Then, we pass through the dense forests crossing several suspension bridges. We also pass by a tea houses. Our trail then goes up and down but it’s not that challenging. We will reach Lama Hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 05: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3430m) 7 hours

After taking morning breakfast, we will start our second day of the journey. Well, our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. We will enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. And we will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We will stay overnight at Langtang village.

Day 06: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) 4 hours

After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the Kyanjin village and pass on through yak pastures. We will also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. We then cross several of the wooden bridges. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes you might start feeling the thin air. Kyanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks.

Day 07: Visit to Tserko Ri and Trek back to Lama Hotel 6 hours

Early morning we visit to Tserko Ri (5000m) for mountain sunrise views. And after taking our breakfast, we proceed to Lama Hotel. Since it’s mostly downhill it is approx. 5 hours walk from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way downhill through forest following the river. We will pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements that follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans.

Day 08: Trek back to Syabrubesi 5 hours

After breakfast, we trek down to Syabrubensi for about 5 hours. We will be enjoying the easy trail mostly downhill through lush green vegetation. Arriving Syabrubesi, we take our lunch. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi

After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Spend the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. We will celebrate the farewell dinner in the dinner.

Day 10: Final Departure

You are saying good bye to the Kathmandu as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We will transfer you to the airport for your returning flight.
