Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. He was born in Lumbini which is situated in Rupandehi, 22 Km. away from Siddarthanagar (Bhairahawa), district headquarter of Rupandehi. Buddha is known as the Light of Asia was born on the full moon day in the month of Baishakh in 623 BC. Kushinagar, where Buddha got Nirvana from his life is 181 km. away from Lumbini in India. The words what Buddha spoke spread over the world as Bodhisatta (Truths). Followers of Buddha’s idea are called Buddhists and the religion they follow is Buddhism.
Lumbini is world famous for Buddhist and not Buddhist followers due to his preaching for non-violence. Though he got enlightened in India (Gaya), it is not true that he was born there as it becomes the black stain to spread in the name of Buddha’s principles. Kathmandu Lumbini Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1310m/4264ft.)
You are welcome in Buddha’s birth place Nepal. After you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the representative of trekinhimalaya.com greets of welcome and takes you to the hotel. The hotel staffs will be engaged for your accommodation and check in. In the evening, you can explore Kathmandu city and shop necessary goods. We stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley tour with Stupas visit.
Today, after having breakfast, we will provide a guide who will take you to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, White Gumba (Druk Amitabha Monastery), Kirtipur Gumba, and will take you to the gorge of Baghmati River from where Monk Manjushree had made outlet of the water of Lake with his magic sword. In the evening, you may visit other historical sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Hanuman Dhoka Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Tundikhel etc.
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Bhairahawa 5/6 hrs
After breakfast in Kathmandu, we depart to Bhairahawa. On the way, you enjoy the overwhelming view of rocky hills while going along the Trishuli River. We pass through Kurintaar (Cable Car station to Manakamana Temple), Muglin Bazaar and reach Narayangadh. We will stop for Lunch there and we will explore city and also the Narayani River Bridge. In the evening, we reach Siddarthanagar / Bhairahawa.(You can reach Bhairahawa by plane within 30 minutes short domestic flight too.). We stay overnight in a hotel in Bhairahawa.
Day 04: Visiting the Temples and worship in Lumbini.
Early morning we drive for half an hour and reach Lumbini Area. There you visit Maya Devi Temple, Ashok Pillar, Shanti Deep (Peace Flame), Lumbini Museum, and many other Temples of Buddha. Make prayers in the Temples, enjoy observing the architecture of the temples, explore the surrounding of Lumbini village and preserved area. In the evening back to the hotel in Bhairahawa.
Day 05: Visit Tilaurakot and Devdaha – retrieving back to Kathmandu 6/7 hrs
Early morning we drive for Tilaurakot visit which lies in Kapilvastu, the historical place of Gautam Buddha’s Palace. Explore the site and leave for Devdaha in Nawalparasi district, another historical place related to Buddha. Lunch on the way in a restaurant! In the evening we return back to Kathmandu.
Day 06: Farewell Day
On the last day, we bid goodbye to the guest as Kathmandu- Lumbini Package Tour in Nepal comes to the end for this time. If you have time enough, you can have sightseeing and shopping in the markets. Before 3 hours of scheduled flight, our representative will take you to the TIA. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next tour with recollection of experiences.
