Everest Three Pass Trek
Everest Three Pass Trek is one of the most challenging treks in the Everest Region. However, this trek is going to be one of the challenging treks, you will have most rewarding experience during the trip. Everest Three Pass Trek provides you the opportunity to visit three mighty passes in the Everest Region namely: Kongma La (5535m), Cho La (5420m), and Renjo La (5340m) along with EBC, best viewpoints of Gokyo Ri and Kalapatthar, Gokyo Valley and its tranquil lakes, Sherpa village of Marlung and Thame among many others.
Everest Three Pass Trekking starts with the beautiful scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We then trek from Lukla to Phakding and then to Namche. Following the classic route to Sagarmatha National Park through Dudh Koshi River, we pass through various gompas and Buddhist monasteries. We will get to explore the wonderful Sherpa culture and lifestyle during this trek. Passing three of mighty passes of Everest Region is quite challenging but rewarding task. Detailed Itinerary
Day01: Arrival at Kathmandu
After landing the flight at TIA, a representative of Motherland Hiking Team will warmly receive you and will move towards the hotel arranged by Motherland Hiking Team. We will enjoy delicious dinner at night with a brief description of the upcoming trekking program to Everest base camp.
Day02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding
Early morning when the sun rises, we will begin our trekking by moving towards the airport to catch the flight to Lukla. From Lukla, we will move through the pass to reach Phakding. Phakding is a beautiful village of this region where every one of us will be eager to stay and to know more about the beautiful village.
Day03: Phakding to Namche bazaar
From Phakding, we will walk upward to Namche bazaar by crossing several suspension bridges over to Dudh Koshi River. Walking slowly will offer us magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (6618m). We will walk across the Sagarmatha national park. It will take us 5 to 6 hours to reach Namche bazaar where we will stay at the reputed hotel.
Day04: Namche bazaar acclimatization day
Namche bazaar is really a suitable place to accumulate our. So we need to explore the surrounding of Namche bazaar whole day. We are facilitated by everything in Namche bazaar like ATms, banks, internet cafes, restaurants, bakery, hospitals, government office and other many facilities. We can explore the life styles of Sherpa community living here.
Day 05: Namche bazaar to Thame
From Namche bazaar, our trial goes to the North West trail. We will leave the main trail of the Everest base camp. This way leads us to Tibetan lands. So our meeting will be so many Tibetan people trekking down or up in the trail. It will take us about 4 to 5 hours to reach Thame which is the birth place of Tenzing Norgay.
Day 06: Acclimatization day at Thame
Today is taken as the rest day because we need to accumulate ourself at the high altitude. Our full day will go by spending for acclimatizing and exploring around Thame. We can visit the beautiful monastery above the town for a while. Then again we will come back Thame to stay our night.
Day 07: Thame to Lungdeng
From Thame, our way will be sighting the beautiful yak grazing land and pasture lands. After walking the whole day through the route of old villages of the Himalayas, we can finally reach at Lungdeng. The Lungdeng village is situated at the altitude of 4380m. We will rest the night at Lungdeng.
Day 08: Lungdeng to Renjo la Base camp
We continue our path towards the deserted valley just below the Nangpa la pass which is an important trade route between Tibet and Nepal. Today also there is the use of same trekking route to do the trade at Tibet and Nepal. Our trek will go for about 3 to 4 hours. We will be at the altitude of 4900m.
Day 09: Cross Renjo la pass to Gokyo lakes
First step of our destination starts. Today we will pass Renjo la pass to the elevation of 5388m. To cross this pass it is harder. A clear view of Everest, Cho Oyu, Gyachung, Makalu, Nuptse and Amadablam will be seen from this pass. The panoramic view of great Himalaya’s ranges, we will mesmerize us and we will move towards the Gokyo lakes.
Day 10: Rest day at Gokyo lakes
Today is the rest day because we had climbed high pass. We will explore whole day all around the gokyo. We will go to Gokyo Lake also. We will climb the Gokyo peak also. From the peak we can take some picture as the memory. After exploring whole Gokyo we will again return back to hotel and prepare for tomorrow.
Day 11: Ascent to Gokyo RI and trek to Dragnag
We will climb the peak from Gokyo Lake from where we can see the finest view from the top. The stunning view of Everest and Cho Oyu along with many mountains will amaze us. it will take about 2 hours to reach Gokyo Ri and then after walk for about 2 to 3 hours, we will be at far side to Dragnag at the altitude of 4700m.
Day 12: Cross Cho la to Dzongla
Today we will cross the next peak. We climb to steep hills to reach to sandy ridgeline. While crossing the Cho la pass we have to be careful as this place is at the altitude of 5380m above sea level. We may need some ropes to fix while crossing this pass. We have to continue our way down to Dzongla to the altitude of 4803m.
Day 13: Dzongla to Lobuje
Our trial descends little and then goes steeply towards the Lobuje. The superb view of Amadablam to the north face will amaze us. The Lobuje is the base camp for the Everest trekkers, so we may encounter with many people while we are at Lobuje. Our trekking route goes for about 2 to 3 hours. We will enjoy the delightful night at Lobuje.
Day 14: Lobuje to Gorak shep and climb to Kalapatthar
Early morning, we will be served by the delicious breakfast. After breakfast we will march to Gorak shep from where we will witness many sky kissing mountains including the top of the world. We will follow the trail which will lead us to the base camp of Everest. We will take some breathe in the breeze of Mount Everest. We will return back to Gorak shep following the same path.
Day 15: Trek to Everest base camp
Today is long day trekking. We move early morning to the Everest base camp. The 3 hour trekking to the snowy path will be enough to reach at Everest base camp. We will spend some time there and we will return back through the same way. The trekking of today will be about 8 to 10 hours.
Day 16: Back to Lobuje
After walking some time, we can reach at Gorakshep at the beginning of the day. We will then further continue our way back to Lobuje and spend the night. If we are not well satisfied for watching the beautiful mountains then we can closely examine the White Mountains for the whole day.
Day 17: Cross Kongma la to Chhukung
Today is the last destination of our day. We will cross the Kongma la pass which is a challenging and interesting pass to approach the Imja valley. The way is steep to reach at the pass. From the pass we can enjoy the spectacular view of mountain around us. After the trekking for 4 hours, we will be at Chhukung at the altitude of 4720m.
Day 18: Chhukung RI to Dingboche
We need to walk a lond day so we will early. We will climb Chhukung and will be paralyzed once by seeing the true picture of Nepal from the elevation. The view to down of the valley from the altitude of 5550m will be interesting. The climbing time to Chhukung Ri is about 4 to 5 hours which will further continue for a trek to Dingboche for 3 hours.
Day 19: Trek to Kyangjuma
While returning we will follow the main trail of the Everest base camp, we can reach at Pangboche at the base camp of Ama Dablam. We have to pass the forest of rhododendron and fir. We shouldn’t have to stop ourselves until we reach at Kyangjuma and will have to spend the night at there at the elevation of 3550m.
Day 20: Trek to Phakding
Our next destination is Phakding. The two places lies within the distance of about 5 to 6 hours. We will trek from Namche bazaar to Phakding. We don’t need to rush as the route is not as along as others. We have to cross several suspension bridges while travelling through the way. We should be at Phakding at the night to stay.
Day 21: Phakding to Lukla
Form Phakding, we will have a fantastic way to the Lukla as the trail goes much more flatten and easier. The trekking route is about 3 to 4 hours long. The trek to Lukla will be short so we can spend a quality time at Lukla for rest of the day. The Lukla is at the height of 2840m.
Day 22: Lukla to Kathmandu
We will reach Kathmandu within few hours. After getting off from plane, we can visit around the Kathmandu. We can view the most panoramic and magnificent picture of surrounding of Kathmandu valley. We will spend the night at Kathmandu arranged by Motherland Hiking team
Day 23: Final Departure
We are saying good bye to the Kathmandu as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We will transfer you to the airport for your returning flight.
